Flower Basic Modeling with Cylinder + Array
1. Go to Create panel > Standard Primitive > Cylinder, set the Radius for example = 20 cm and heigh= 3 cm also set heigh segments = 1, cap segments = 2 and sides = 12
2. Select Object and then Right Click > Convert To Editable Poly
3. Go to Modify Panel > Editable Poly > Polygon Selection > Select some polygons, see this picture below > delete
4. Go to Modify Panel > Editable Poly > Polygon Selection > Select back side polygon > delete
5. Go to Modify Panel > Editable Poly > Polygon Selection > Detach ( detach to element ) > and then move up the polygon, a little bit
6. Go to Modify Panel > Editable Poly > Edge Selection > Select some vertical Edges (see the picture below) > Right Click > Connect, or using connect button in the rollout panel, see the tutorial about connect Here
7. Go to Modify Panel > Editable Poly > Edge Selection > Select some horizontal Edges (see the picture below) > Right Click > Connect, or using connect button in the rollout panel, see the tutorial about connect Here
8. Go to Modify Panel > Editable Poly > Edge Selection > Extrude Edge ( Click some edges + press "Shift" on your Keyboard + drag/Move ) and make as the sample below
9.Go to Modify Panel > Editable Poly > Vertex Selection > Select Vertex > Right click and Remove unnecessary vertex.
10.Go to Modify Panel > Editable Poly > Edge Selection > Select some Edges > move the edges forward
11. Add new lines with "Connect" then using "Cut" to finish the rest, see the tutorial about cut and connect Here
12. Select Element > move the object up > continue to modify the shape with "cut" , see the picture below
13. Go to Modify Panel > Editable Poly > Edge Selection > Extrude Edges ( Click some edges + press "Shift" on your Keyboard + Move )
14. Select the Carving > Menu bar > Tools > Array
15. Set the array parameter > Activate Rotate > 360 degree > Type of object "Instant" > Count = 12, and press "Preview" then press OK.
16. Go to Modify Panel > Editable Poly > Element Selection > Select object > Move down to the center a bit ( we just need to working on the master object, since the rest are instance object ) > then add sphere in the center of the object
17. Go to Modify Panel > Editable Poly > Subdivision Surface > activate "Use Nurms Subdivision" set the iterations = 2 or more to get the smooth result. also you can do with "Mesh smooth, Turbo Smooth, or Open Subdiv Modifier"
